Veronica Emily Tremblay, Debutante, March 2006

Miss Veronica Emily Tremblay is a member of the Albemarle-Stanly Society and is the daughter of Kevin & Lucy Tremblay of Locust. Veronica attended Southeastern Regionals in Greensboro and Summer Board in Raleigh and has served as a state Chairman.

Veronica is a freshman at Georgetown University in Washington, DC and is a student in Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business, double majoring in International Business and Marketing. While a student at Salem Academy, she was in the Mu Alpha Pheta, the National Math Honor Society. She was commended in the National Merit Program; the National Honor Society, and National Spanish Honor Society. She was Team Captain of her JV soccer team, ran Cross Country three years and was the Softball Manager one year. She won Salem Academy’s Visual Art Award, the Arts Council Purchase Award, the Scholastic Arts Award, the Excellence in Drawing Award; and won the F W Pearson Scholarship to Miami. Veronica has been a volunteer with the Cub Scouts for their summer day camp program and tutors young Spanish-speaking children on weekends.

Veronica’s Revolutionary ancestor was Private Joel Burt of Massachusetts who served under: Captain Wales & Colonel Mosely; under Captain Kirkland & Colonel Ruggles Woodbury and under Captain Woodbridge & Lieutenant David Smith. She would also like to acknowledge ancestors Reverend Enoch Hale who was in contact with his brother Nathan Hale, the Martyred Spy, and recovered his remains to bring home; and ancestor Samuel Edwards who a private.

Veronica is being presented by her father Mr. Kevin J. Tremblay.

Her Assistant Marshal is Mr. Kevin R. Tremblay, President of the Albemarle-Stanly Society.

Veronica’s escort is Mr. John Frederick Lord, III who also attends Georgetown University.
