Lee Frost Riley, Debutante, March 2006

Miss Lee Frost Riley is a member of the Dr. Robert T. Williams Society in Farmville. She is the daughter of Lewis Cooper Riley and Barbara Ann Peters Riley. Lee has served the state society in the positions of librarian and historian. She has been a chairman and has held positions on the local level.

Lee is a senior at Saint Thomas More Academy in Raleigh where she is in the school Honor Society and as a member of the Debate Team she has participated in two school-wide annual debates, and is the president of the Pro-Life club. She also attended the American Legion’s Tar Heel Girls State. Lee plans to attend The Catholic University of America in Washington D.C. next year and study philosophy Lee is a member of St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church where she had been a youth leader, and last summer participated in the national leadership program sponsored by Franciscan University of Steubenville.Lee honors the member of Revolutionary ancestor – Colonel Benjamin May who served with the North Carolina Militia and Colonel Brown of the Continental Army. She also would like to acknowledge ancestor Governor Thomas Burke who was captured by Loyalists in September 1781 and was transferred to Charlestown and imprisoned on Sullivan’s Island. After having his appeals for release refused, Burke escaped and returned to North Carolina.Lee is being presented this evening by her father Mr. Lewis Cooper Riley.Her assistant Marshal is Mr. Anthony Behe.
