Miss Howell joins us from the Joel Lane Society.
Mary Lee graduated from Princeton High School in Princeton, North Carolina in June of 2018. She was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Princeton High School Gymnastics Team, the PHS Girls Cross Country Team and the Morgan’s Gymnastics Academy Competitive Team.
At the local level, Mary Lee served as Society President for the Kingston Society in Kinston, North Carolina in addition to her other society officer and chairman positions. She served as North Carolina Society State President from 2016-2017 and previously as State Vice President, State Historian and numerous State Chairmanships. She currently is an Honorary State President. At the National level she was elected Southeastern Region Vice President in 2017 and National Assistant Registrar in 2018, a position she currently holds.
She has been awarded the N.S.C.A.R. State President’s Award, Gold Level, the National SAR Bronze Medal, the CAR/DAR/SAR Outstanding Member Award and the Kandie Coggin Pewter Tray for Most Valuable C.A.R. Member.
Mary Lee is a dedicated volunteer assisting with animal transport and the needs of rescue organizations and shelters. She assists with Wreaths Across America, modeled for the Charity Fashion Show in Charlotte, North Carolina and presented flags at the Naturalization Ceremony for two years in Kinston, North Carolina. She has volunteered for Samaritan’s Purse and assisted with luncheons for veterans on Veterans Day along with supporting a First Responder luncheon.
She is currently attending Johnston Community College in Smithfield, North Carolina and North Carolina State University where she is majoring in Communications. She continues to love traveling and attending sporting events, especially NC State competitions.
Mary Lee’s Patriot Ancestor is Richard Hurtt from Maryland.
She is presented by her parents, the late John Ricky Howell and Valerie Jones Howell.
