Miss Carol Ann Gause is a member of the David Cockerham Society in Mount Airy where she serves as President. On the state level she serves as the Magazine Fund Chair. Her parents are Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Gause of Mount Airy, NC.
Miss Gause is a current senior at Surry Early College High School of Design in Dobson, where she is on the Dean’s List. She achieved Perfect Attendance in Kindergarten through 8th grade. She earned the High School Honor Roll 9th through 12th grade, and was Student Council Treasurer in the11th grade. For the past several years she has been involved with Mount Airy’s Library Dewey Decimal Players. She has been a member of Drama Club for 4 years, and has been selected to appear as a member of the Quiz Bowl and other competitions. In May 2014 she earned the Girl Scout Gold Award. In April she will be performing in a community theatre version of the Titanic for a Dinner Theater at Cross Creek Country Club.
Carol would like to honor her Revolutionary Ancestor Captain William Bobbitt. He served 4 years as Captain and in command during the western Virginia Indian Campaign and in the Battle of Shallow Ford on the Yadkin River in North Carolina. She would also like to acknowledge another Revolutionary ancestor Joshua Hanks. He was a Captain in the Flower Swift Militia in Virginia.
Carol is being presented by her father Stephen and her mother Tina,who is the First Vice Regent of Jonathan Hunt DAR & Senior Society President of David Cockerham Society . The Assistant Marshal for Carol is Mr. Jordan Francis of Mount Airy. Jordan is Vice President of the David Cockerham Society.
