Emily Cline, Debutante, 2012

Miss Emily Cline, Honorary State President, is National Investment Chairman & State Awards Chairman. She was President of the General John Ashe Society for 6 years & has served in various State Chairman & Officer positions, & was our State President last year. Her Project benefited patients at Duke Children’s Hospital. During 2011 she was the recipient of the State President National Gold Merit Award; DAR/SAR State Regent’s Award for Outstanding C.A.R. Member; SAR Silver CAR Medal of Appreciation; DAR Good Citizenship Medal & Most Valuable C.A.R. Member. In 2007 she was the recipient of the Dr. Thomas Champion Drew Outstanding Chairman Award.

In 2011 Emily was the State Spelling Bee winner; State Fine Arts competition winner, Vocal Quartet & National Hand bells Ensemble winner. In 2010 she received the Woodsmen of the World American History Award & State Science Fair winner in Physical Science. At National Cheerleading Camp she earned the MVP Spirit Award. Emily received the Most Outstanding Vocal Musician award & is a consecutive winner of the Good Citizenship Medal. She is a consecutive winner for Creative Writing in the State Fine Arts competition. While a student at Wilmington Christian Academy, she was on Student Council & in the National Honor Society, earning the consecutive highest GPA in English & History. Academically able to skip junior year, she graduated Cape Fear Community College High School on March 2nd. Emily is enrolled as a freshman at UNC Wilmington & at Cape Fear Community College. She plans a career in United States Constitutional Law or International Law. Emily has been selected to represent Wilmington & New Hanover County in April as a member of the Queen’s Court for the North Carolina Azalea Festival. With that honor, she has been selected as one of 4 Azalea Belles to go to the State Capital in Raleigh on March 30th to be introduced to the North Carolina House of Representatives, attend the Governor’s Press Conference for the Azalea Festival, & be received by the Governor during afternoon tea at the Executive Mansion.

Emily would like to honor her Revolutionary Ancestor Captain James Anderson of Virginia. He served in the Continental Line under Gen. George Washington.

Emily is being presented by her father William Cline, Sr. State Recording Secretary, Gen. John Ashe Senior Society President & member of the Lower Cape Fear SAR Chapter. Her mother Angela Cline is the North Carolina Senior State President, and member of the Stamp Defiance DAR Chapter.

The Assistant Marshal for Emily is Mr. Will Branson, of Myrtle Beach. Will is State President of the South Carolina Society C.A.R.
