Miss Hannah Peterson is a member of the Joel Lane Society of Raleigh where she has served as Vice President then President. Under her leadership the Society won the National Blue Merit Award, the State Gold Merit Award and the State’s Most Outstanding Society Award. On the State level she has served as Historian & Information Technology Chair. She was awarded the Thomas Drew Best Committee Chairman and was the Robert B. Fleming, Jr. Memorial Scholarship recipient for 2010. On the State Level, she is the current Organizing Secretary and Conservation Program Chair. Hannah is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Peterson.
Miss Peterson was a member of the Girl Scouts and was the recipient of the Gold Award. She was awarded the Ray Kroc Youth Achievement Scholarship. For the past 5 years she has volunteered with Appalachian Service Project and was a member of the National Honor Society. Hannah is now a freshman at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Hannah would like to honor her Revolutionary Ancestor Daniel Fitch who enlisted May 30, 1777 and was a member of the 4th Connecticut Light Infantry. His service found him with General George Washington at Valley Forge.
Hannah is being presented by her father Grant Peterson and mother Brenda Peterson. Her father is a member of the SAR, Society of Colonial Wars, The Mayflower Society and the Jamestowne Society.
The Assistant Marshal for Hannah is Mr. Robert Lee Bottoms, National & North Carolina Merit Award Chairman & President of the Governor Alexander Martin Society in Winston-Salem.
