Meaghan DeCoy, Debutante, March 2007

Miss Meaghan DeCoy is a member of the Martha McGee Bell Society in High Point. Her parents are Dr. and Mrs. Donald Lee DeCoy

Miss DeCoy serves as the President of the newly re-organized Martha McGee Bell Society, has attended Summer Board at the House in the Horse Shoe. She organized a DAR Herb Garden Beautification Project and was introduced as a C.A.R. member to the daughters at the Alexander Martin Chapter DAR meeting this past November. Meaghan served as a DAR Page last month in Pinehurst. Because of Meaghan’s involvement with both the DAR and C.A.R she has made this her senior project at school.

Megahan is a senior at Southwest High School in High Point where she is a member of the National Beta Club, Student Council and Spanish Club.  She has been an active member of her Leadership Class both her Junior and Senior years of high school.  She volunteers for Big Brothers, Big Sisters.  She is a member of First Assembly of God and volunteers in the church nursery. 

Meaghan’s revolutionary ancestor was Pvt. David Sayre of New Jersey. He served in the 1st Regiment of Essex County Militia under Captain Richard Townley. Meaghan would also like to recognize patriots Ensign Samuel William from Maryland, Justice of the Peace; Moses Williamson from Virgina who provided patriotic service and signed the Oath of Allegiance and Capt. Daniel [Flurry] Flowerree of VA
