Clare Beumer, Debutante, March 2007

Miss Clare Beumer is a member of the Captain David Vance Society in Asheville, and is the daughter of Cecil and the late Margaret Anne Beumer of Asheville. Tonight Clare is being presented by her father and a very dear friend of her family Mrs. Elizabeth Graham-Pulliam

Miss Beumer began her activities in C.A.R. by attending the Southeastern Regional meeting in Greensboro in 2004. She has also served as a DAR State Conference Page for three years, including the Conference last month.

Clare is a senior Asheville School in Asheville where she earned a letter in Track, was appointed co-executive Editor ofthe Asheville School Annual, the Blue and White, and is a columnist for the school newspaper.  Clare is a member of the Outward bound Service project team in Chile. She has completed two Outward Bound Leadership courses in Climbing and Backpacking. College plans for the fall are undecided but she plans to study journalism.

Her Revolutionary War ancestor was Private Edward McCallister who emigrated from Ireland to Virginia.  Serving with the Virginia troops under the command of General Daniel Morgan he fought in the Battle of Cowpens.
