Hannah Louise Hodson, Debutante, March 2006

Miss Hannah Louise Hodson is a member of the Dr. Robert T. Williams Society of Farmville, and is the daughter of Charles and Patricia Hodson of Greenville. Hannah began her activities in C.A.R. as a page in 2000 and has held numerous local & state offices serving as Vice-President, Recording Secretary, & Historian for her local society & has held the offices of Historian, Registrar, Recording Secretary, & Current Chaplain on the State level. She has also served as Chairman, past editor of the Tarheel Tattler, the state C.A.R. newsletter & attended Southeastern Regional in Greensboro this past summer. Today Hannah was elected to be the president for the State Society of North Carolina.

Hannah is a senior at D.H. Conley High School in Greenville where she is a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society, & National Spanish Honor Society. She is the volunteer coordinator for National Spanish Honor Society and is Captain of her high school Quiz Bowl Team. Hannah served as a Junior Class Marshall last year. She attended the National Student Leadership Conference at Duke University in July 2005 & Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Conference at NC State University in June 2003. Hannah has been recognized as an AP Scholar and served as a Governor’s Page in June 2003 and participated in the Pitt County Youth Leadership Program in the spring of 2004. Hannah received the Girl Scout Gold Award in May 2005. She plays violin in the Eastern Youth Orchestra at East Carolina University. Hannah is a Premier Highland Dancer and has won numerous medals and trophies in competitions in Williamsburg, Savannah, Red Springs, Grandfather Mountain, Charleston, Richmond, Lake Norman, and Cary. She is a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Greenville. Hannah plans to attend UNC-Chapel Hill in the fall and major in history. She is a semi-finalist for the North Carolina Teaching Fellows Program.

Her Revolutionary War ancestor was John Todd of Pennsylvania. He was in the Battles of Brandywine Creek and Trenton. His unit wintered at Valley Forge with the Continental Army commanded by George Washington.
