Miss Amanda Heidi Rogers is a member of The Alexander Martin Society of Winston-Salem and is the daughter of Ken and Darlee Rogers. Amanda is one of our newer members and has been chaplain and historian on the local level and she attended Southeastern Regionals this past summer.
Amanda is a senior at Mount Tabor High School where she First Chair flute with Symphonic Band & Orchestra; placed as All-District First Chair Flute and was selected for All-County Band & All-County Orchestra. Amanda performed with both band and orchestra at Festival Disney. She is a member of Latin Honors Society, Mount Tabor Spartan Club & Mount Tabor Art Society. She was one of six high school students to have their art selected for the upcoming Humane Society Auction. Amanda served as Captain of the Mount Tabor Color guard and has been a member of the Mount Tabor Wingerguard Competition squad for 3 years. Both guards have won numerous first place awards. As a member of the Girl Scouts she is the recipient of the Silver Award & the Gold Award. Volunteer hours are spent for Habitat for Humanity’s annual fundraiser “Birdfest” from 2002 – 2005. She is a member of Olivet Moravian Church where she plays the flute with the choir.
Amanda’s revolutionary ancestor is Private John Smith of Prince William County, Virginia. He served as a soldier in Monongalia County in 1778. He also provided material aid to the Continental Army.
This evening she is being presented by her father, Mr. Ken Rogers.
Her assistant Marshall is her grandfather Mr. Leo Rogers of Virginia.
Her escort is Mr. Drew Hinkle of Winston-Salem and is a freshman at Virginia Tech.
