Christa Moye Crowder, Debutante, March 2006

Miss Christa Moye Crowder is a member of the Joel Lane Society and is the daughter of Christopher and Melissa Crowder of Cary. Christa has been a page at several State Conferences and a chairman. On the local level, she held the office of Chaplain and is currently the Treasurer for her Society.

Christa is a senior at Cary High School. She currently serves a president of her youth group at Westover Methodist Church, where she also taught Bible School and assists with summer camps at the Methodist Children’s Center. She plans on pursuing a career in child psychology. She likes to design and create jewelry, play the piano and ride horses.

Christa’s Revolutionary ancestor was Captain George Moye. He was a tobacco farmer and the sheriff of Pitt County, North Carolina. He composed a petition to the King of England prior to the Revolution. She would also like to acknowledge Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Beale who was a Justice of Peace in Yorke County Virginia in 1652. He also served as a Major in the Militia in 1661. From 1662 -1700 he was a member of the Kings Council. Also, Jeremiah Exum settled in Isle of Wight County Virginia, 1681. He served as Justice in the Isle of Wight from 1893 to 1894.

Christa is being presented this evening by her father, Mr. Christopher Crowder.

Her Assistant Marshal is Aaron Doerr, who deserves special recognition as he a veteran of the United States Air Force. He served during Operation Southern Watch and Operation Iraqi Freedom. His final rank was Senior Airman. Our society wishes to thank you for your service and dedication to our country.
